  1. >"Spike, take a letter." calls out Twilight.
  2. >A small purple lizard trots in the room, but freezes in fear at the sight of you.
  3. >"It's okay Spike. He isn't here to hurt us."
  4. >He nods, never taking his eyes off you except to write Twilight's letter.
  5. >She requests a formal introduction of a new species of animal to Princess Celestia.
  6. >When the letter is completed the lizard breathes fire on the scroll, and it disappears.
  7. "Uh... Why did you just burn that scroll?"
  8. >"Oh, he didn't burn it. He teleported it to the princess."
  9. "...How?"
  10. >"Using magic of course!"
  11. >What form of hell did you manage to stumble into?
  12. >The sooner you return to Earth, the better off you will be in the long run.
  13. >Your parishioners will likely be worried about your well being.
  14. >The church could even think you abandoned the job.
  15. >You shudder at the thought of losing your rank and title.
  16. "Well. Fine. When can we-"
  17. >The purple lizard lets loose a large belch, releasing a stream of green fire into the room.
  18. >A scroll appears from the fire, and Spike catches it.
  19. >He unravels the note, and reads it carefully.
  20. >"The princess says you can take the next train to Canterlot and join her for dinner this evening."
  21. >"Thank you Spike. Anon, let's go."
  22. "That's Father Anon."
  23. >"Sure."
  24. >You grind your teeth following the purple horse to the train station.
  25. >This society was completely backwards.
  26. >Functioning on magic to perform basic tasks, when it's a tabooed subject on your world.
  27. >The ponies were friendly enough, but just how many of their customs were you going to have to tolerate.
  28. >You feel your right breast-pocket for your Bible, one of the few pieces of the real world that you have left.
  29. >When you arrive at the station, Twilight begins to barrage you with questions about Earth.
  30. >She was amazed that ponies weren't sentient creatures on Earth, and as a result, asked about them for most of the train ride.
  31. >While being a eye-aching shade of pink, the train seems to be just like a steam train from Earth.
  32. >Conversation with Twilight is helping to quickly pass the time on the train ride.
  33. >"What about magic though? Surely humans use magic on Earth, or maybe unicorns!"
  34. >Twilight looks to you with a hopeful look in her eyes.
  35. >You ponder how you would answer this question without offending her.
  36. "In my world... Magic... The magic that you ponies use, isn't really seen as a normal thing."
  37. >She looks at you curiously.
  38. >"So, like a special gift?"
  39. >The history lessons of how witches were treated on Earth flash through your head.
  40. "I suppose you can say that. People with that... gift, try to keep it secret. If they can, that is."
  41. >Twilight looks outside the window and thinks to herself.
  42. >"So, magic is more like a taboo on Earth?"
  43. >Your silence answers her question.
  44. >The mountainside city in the distance glistens in the bright sunshine.
  45. >As you sit in the rail car in silence, you decide to break the silence.
  46. "So, uh. What do ponies here do with their free time?"
  47. >She seems to lighten up a little bit.
  48. >"Ever since I was a little filly I loved to read books. Whenever I read all the books in a library, I would go find a new library or begin rereading all of them."
  49. >You let out a small chuckle.
  50. "That's quite the love for reading. I'm quite a bit of a reader myself."
  51. >"Does everyone read back on Earth?"
  52. "Not as much as they should in my opinion. There is many wonderful things that can be found in the written word."
  53. >Twilight turns to you as if she suddenly found her soulmate.
  54. >You spend the rest of the train ride talking about the different books that you read on Earth while she listens like an awestruck child.
  55. >The train stops when you finally satiate all of her questions about Romeo and Juliet.
  56. >Canterlot is massive, much like the big cities of Earth.
  57. >You follow the purple unicorn since she seems to know these streets like the back of her hand.
  58. >Hoof.
  59. >It will be hard to get used to that.
  60. >As you approach the castle, you can't help but notice large marble statues of a pony with both wings and a horn.
  61. >There were remarkable pieces of art.
  62. >Some had the pony holding massive swords and some had her emblazoned with the sun.
  63. >These must be monuments to Princess Celestia.
  64. >You will make your own evaluation of this goddess once you meet her.
  65. >It's hard to keep an open mind in this world when so many things seem horribly wrong.
  66. >The castle walls are heavily fortified by armored guards.
  67. >Each guard has the sun of Celestia emblazoned on their armor and give stern looks as the two of you pass into the castle.
  68. >The outside gardens have marble statues of Celestia's foes in fearful positions, and the hedges are cut in the shape of her image.
  69. >As you enter the castle, the amount of stained glass and size of the rooms are awe-inspiring.
  70. >Following a long red velvet rug, the two of you are stopped.
  71. >"Twiley! Good to see you!"
  72. >"Hey there big brother! How are you?"
  73. >"I'm fine. You must be this Anon that I've heard about so much."
  74. "Father Anon. Pleased to meet your acquaintance."
  75. >He nods to you.
  76. >"This way. She decided to give you the rooms near her personal quarters."
  77. >The three of you ascend a long staircase, and at the very top, three golden doors line the left of the hallway.
  78. >"The first one is Twilight's, and the last one is Celestia's." says Shining Armor.
  79. "Thanks."
  80. >Pushing hard on the golden doors reveals a large extravagant room decorated after the sun itself.
  81. >White marble floors, golden chairs adorning a marble table that has a Celestia statue in the center as well as a personal bathroom.
  82. >Last but not least, a king sized bed with golden curtains.
  83. >A sight for sore eyes to say the least.
  84. >Nearly jumping on it, you lay on the bed.
  85. >It's nearly like laying on a cloud, and the mattress gave no squeaks or reaction to it's new inhabitant.
  86. >This, you could get used to.
  87. >Rubbing your forehead, you try to get some sort of sense of the situation.
  88. >Maybe your bible would lend you some insight.
  89. >You open it up and turn to a random page.
  90. "Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock." (Psalm 137:9)
  91. >Huh.
  92. >You hear a knock on your door, causing you to leave your paradise.
  93. "Come in."
  94. >Twilight enters your room with a smile.
  95. >"It's time for dinner, I'll show you the way."
  96. "Sure, sounds good."
  97. >You place your bible back into your pocket when Twilight sees it.
  98. >"Ooohh! Is that a book from Earth?"
  99. "Yeah... I suppose you could say it's a favorite of mine."
  100. >"Would you mind if I read it?" she says with hope in her eyes.
  101. >How could you say no to such an innocent face.
  102. "Sure, here."
  103. >You hand the book off to Twilight, who begins to read it.
  104. >"This... sure looks interesting. Is this first chapter the creation of your world?"
  105. "Yeah."
  106. >"Is it fiction?"
  107. "In my world, some people believe it is, while some people believe it isn't. It's a very, very old book."
  108. >"What do you think?" She says looking up to you.
  109. "I believe that it's true."
  110. >"Then I will think it's non-fiction." She says with a smile.
  111. >"Let me put this in my room, and we will head down."
  112. >Soon, the two of you are at the bottom of the stairway heading towards a delectable aroma.
  113. >If you were lucky, you managed to have dinner occasionally with a family that pitied you.
  114. >Wages were usually only enough for some sandwiches when you had to make your own dinner.
  115. >Twilight opens the door to the great hall revealing one large long table adorned with golden utensils and a wide array of vegetarian delicacies.
  116. >You were always a meat and potatoes kind of guy, but tonight you could easily make an exception.
  117. >Twilight takes a seat next to the head of the table, and she motions for you to sit next to her.
  118. >Taking your seat, seven guards file into the room.
  119. >One of them you recognize as Shining Armor, but he is now wearing armor that is, well, shining.
  120. >"Please rise for the ruler of Equestria, and goddess of the sun, Princess Celestia."
  121. >Twilight stands and bows her head, and you do the same for the sake of manners.
  122. >At very least because she rules this country.
  123. >Looking up, you get to see the princess for yourself.
  124. >She's tall, almost up to your chest, unlike the other ponies.
  125. >Her statues don't seem to do her justice, as her white fur is as radiant as the sun itself, and her mane seems to be flowing on it's own.
  126. >The alicorn princess is truly a sight to behold, but you wouldn't classify her as a goddess by any means, let alone of something like the sun.
  127. >You may not approve of everything science teaches, but the Earth revolved around the sun, and this planet likely revolves around it's sun too.
  128. >A gentle smile forms on the face of the princess.
  129. >"Please Twilight, we've known each other far too long for formalities."
  130. >Twilight giggles and blushes.
  131. >"Yes, princess."
  132. >The princess seats herself at the head of the table, and the two of you retake your seats.
  133. >"Princess, this is..."
  134. >She looks to you, questioning her choice of words.
  135. >"Father Anon. He claims to be from a planet called Earth."
  136. >The princess looks at you inquisitively.
  137. >"Father Anon... hmmm. Is that a title of respect for fostering many children on your planet?"
  138. >You smile and shake your head.
  139. "No princess. Where I am from, the title of Father is given to those who are leaders of a religious faith."
  140. >Suddenly the pieces are beginning to add up in Twilight's head, and she turns to you with a concerned expression.
  141. >"I see then. What does your religious faith believe?" asks Celestia calmly, pouring herself a glass of wine using her magic.
  142. "I'd prefer if we didn't talk about that right now."
  143. >"I'd prefer if we did, Anon." She stares at you over the rim of her glass.
  144. >You know that you have been boxed into a corner, so you might as well show your hand.
  145. "My faith believes that there is only one God, and that all others are simply fakes and tricks."
  146. >The room goes silent, and the air could be cut with a knife.
  147. >Twilight stares directly into her empty plate.
  148. >Celestia sips her glass of wine.
  149. >"I see... Well then, we will have to find a way to return you to your world then. It shouldn't be too much trouble."
  150. "I thank you Celestia."
  151. >"Princess will suffice for now Anon."
  152. >You wouldn't dare correct the ruler of this country, but she is beginning to grate on your nerves.
  153. >Celestia's hard demeanor then loosens up.
  154. >"Well then! Doesn't this just look marvelous! Let's dig in."
  155. "Sounds great."
  156. >Folding your hands, you say your grace before your meal.
  157. >Twilight looks at your actions carefully.
  158. >"Uhm... Father Anon... What are you doing."
  159. >You finish your prayer.
  160. "Just a meal ritual from home."
  161. >"Is it related to your faith?" Celestia asks passively.
  162. "Yes."
  163. >"Yes, princess."
  164. >You look to her, irritation in your eyes.
  165. "Yes, princess."
  166. >The meal is fairly silent, with the exception of Twilight filling in the princess in her studies of friendship.
  167. >"How is the food Anon?"
  168. "It's really good."
  169. >She stares at you.
  170. "... princess."
  171. >"You are already learning Anon."
  172. >That's about enough.
  173. "Pardon me, princess, Twilight, I need to attend to something in my room. Please excuse me."
  174. >Storming out of the dinner room, you hardily expected to feel so disrespected in a world of multicolored horses.
  175. >It's going to be hard to keep your patience when you are around the princess, but you will have to do your best in order to get home.
  176. >Slamming the door to your room, you lay back down on your comfortable mattress and pull aside the curtains.
  177. >You say a prayer for patience, and close your eyes for rest.
  178.
  179. >You wake up to the sound of hooves in your room.
  180. >Bright moonlight shines into your room, illuminating the tall creature, but the curtains hide it's identity from view.
  181. >Hoofsteps slowly approach the foot of your bed, and the curtains become illuminated with a golden magic.
  182. >The curtains pull apart to reveal the princess with determined eyes and a malevolent smile.
  183. >"Good Evening."
  184. >You sit up in bed with anger written across your face.
  185. "How can I assist you, princess?"
  186. >"I was thinking... we could discuss the terms of your return to Earth."
