  1. Inorganic Testing: A few pointers...
  2.
  3. One massive fuckup people make is not going with hunches and ideas. Srsly.
  4.
  5. If solution is green-blue, test for copper FIRST. Etc. Go on a hunch for your "first test".
  6.
  7. Second test to apply is the "Add NaOH" or "Sodium Hydroxide" test; and here is why:
  8. Bi(3+) - Turns White
  9. Cd(2+) - Turns White
  10. Al(3+) - Turns White
  11. Mn(2+) - Turns White
  12.
  13. ## Hope to fuck it DOESNT turn white... :P
  14.
  15. Cu(2+) - Turns Blue
  16. Co(2+) - Turns Apple Green
  17. Ni(2+) - Turns Apple Green
  18. Hg(2+) - Turns Yellow
  19.
  20. **
  21. Fe(3+) OR Fe(2+) - Turns manky brown/green/rust/shite colour.
  22.
  23. If you still don't know, flame test it.
  24.
  25. Seriously though, your FIRST test should be "Add NaOH"
  26.
  27. For the "anions" try the Sulphate and Chloride tests first ...
