Sonic Boom - A Day in the Life Of... (one-shot)

>You are Flash Kick
>You’re the second best friend of Sonic Boom
>You even managed to steal a kiss multiple times from her during your childhood, and then again once a few months ago
>You thought you had her for sure
>Then Typhoon had to go ruin your chances
>You’ve spent nearly every day that they’re out on a date (which is almost every fucking day) sulking under your favorite tree out by the pond
>It’s peaceful out here, gives you a chance to calm down
>You listen to the wind calmly blowing through the grass as you close your eyes
>Suddenly, you’re shocked awake by a huge splash from the pond
>The water shoots up about ten feet into the air
>Looks like Comet’s awake now
>You sigh, closing your eyes again
>Hopefully he’ll realize you don’t want to be-
>”Heya, Flash Kick!”
>…Fuck.
>You sigh
“What do you want, Comet?”
>He lies down on the grass next to you. “I saw you over here; thought you could use the company, that’s all.”
>Idiot.
“If I wanted company, I wouldn’t be here, y’know.”
>You scowl, leaping up into the air and speeding off angrily
>It’s been a similar routine with you the past few days
>You just wish that sometimes, ponies would just leave you alone
>On your way, you see Sonic Boom and Typhoon walking together through the town
>You scowl
>They’re your friends, but damn if you didn’t feel shafted by Typhoon for it

>You are Thunder Storm
>You are the largest of your friends, next to Typhoon, and one of the strongest on cloud duty
>You’re one of the best when it comes to moving the larger clouds without losing any during the travel from Point A to Point B
>Today, the Apples’ farm needs a bit more rain now for their orchard, so you’ve been sent to move a large cloud over the orchard to assist with the watering
>You’ve started moving the cloud, when you hear a ‘whooshing’ noise behind you
>A wild purple pegasus has appeared!
>[TALK] BATTLE RUN WAIT
>”Heya Thunder!”
>You slow the cloud to a stop, and turn to the pegasus
“Hey Comet! What’re you doing here?”
>”Got bored, so looking for something to do. Flash Kick is sulking again,” he groans
>Oh yeah, that’s right; he’s been like this ever since Typhoon started dating Sonic Boom
>”And Sonic Boom’s on a date with Typhoon today, so I came to you next,” he says
>Go figure
>Come to think of it, you and Typhoon need to hang out more
>It’s been a while since just the two of you went out and did something
“Well, I’m a bit busy today, but I think Ivy’s free; why don’t you go find her?”
>He has a sort of grim look on his face from that
>He shrugs, before flying off
>You hate having to put him off like that, but the Apple family needs the rain for their harvest
>And you’d be damned before you thought they weren’t the best tasting apples in all of Equestria

>You are Ivy Whisper
>You’ve been assigned color duty for the rainbows at the weather factory
>The rainbows power the rest of the facility, so it is essential that you mix each batch perfectly…
>”Heya Ivy, what’s up?”
>You jump and nearly drop everything
>You turn around; it’s Streaking Comet
“Oh, Comet, it’s just you; what can I do for you?”
>He groans. “Well, actually, I was wondering if you were free to do something today; I’m bored, Sonic Boom and Typhoon are out on another date, Flash Kick’s being flank-flustered, and Thunder’s busy moving clouds… He said you would be free today, so I came looking for you.”
>You smile
“Of course; lemme finish mixing this last rainbow, then I’ll come hang out with you.”
>He pumps a hoof into the air excitedly; you giggle a bit at the display
>You go back to mixing the last batch of rainbow
>Comet seems to be spending his waiting time trying to break some kind of imaginary thing in the air
>He’s a bit… off, but he’s still a good friend of yours
>You smile up at him, finishing the last bit before floating up into the air
“Well, shall we be off?”
>He smiles and nods, bolting off, and you follow close behind
>The two of you decide to create a game out of going through the clouds in the sky
>Comet’s slightly faster than you, but you don’t mind; you’re still able to keep up with him close enough to make the race a close one
>Both of you laugh and stare up at the clear, blue sky while resting on a large cloud afterward
>You look down at the ground
>”Um… any reason why the two of you are up here?”
>You see Thunder hovering under the two of you; you giggle and bounce once again onto the cloud
“No reason at all!”

>You are Streaking Comet
>Many ponies have deemed you insane at one point or another
>But today is different; today you will prove the methods to your madness
>For today, your story is read by hundreds on the human imageboard known to them as 4Chan
>Of course, nop0ny would believe you if you said that
>You should probably get out of bed now.
>You immediately bolt up and out of your bed
>Time to begin the day
>You fly out of your home, and dive-bomb right for the pond underneath
>You speed to it as fast as you can, gravity adding to your speed
>You land with a huge splash, the water shooting up to at least 25 feet up in the air
>You swim up and out of the pond, using your wings as raft-like extensions
>You arrive on the shore
>You turn and see Flash Kick resting under a large, shaded tree
>You walk up to him
“Heya, Flash Kick; what’s up?”
>He grumbles, sitting up
>His shades are covering his angered eyes
>”What do you want, Comet?”
>You’re a bit taken aback by the comment
>Suddenly, you remember how he’s still sort of butthurt about the whole “Sonic Boom dating Typhoon” thing
>You decide not to question it further, resting in the shade next to him
“I saw you over here; thought you could use the company, that’s all.”
>He scowls. “If I wanted company, I wouldn’t be here, y’know.”
>He sits up and flies off angrily
>You sigh
>This is why you choose not to fall in love; too much drama
>You sit up, and fly into the air
>Maybe Ivy or Thunder will be doing something interesting
>You fly back up to Cloudsdale, eager to find something to entertain yourself with
>Eventually you find Thunder, moving a few clouds for the day’s scheduled weather forecast
“Heya, Thunder!”
>He stops a moment, and turns to look at you
>”Hey Comet! What’re you doing here?” he asks, his deeper voice juxtaposing Flash Kick’s higher-pitched voice
“Eh, got bored, so I’m looking for something to do. Flash Kick’s sulking and Sonic Boom’s on a date with Typhoon today, so I came to you next.”
>”Well, I’m a bit busy right now, but I don’t think Ivy’s busy today; why don’t you go find her?”
>You shrug
>Well, maybe today will be different
>You and Ivy had a sort of… “Interesting” relationship, to say the least
>Before the drama that was the love-triangle between your friends, you were considering that maybe you and Ivy could have something special
>You decided afterwards that you cared more about keeping yourself safe, so you opted not to pursue anything more with her
>You liked keeping your wings
>You head for the other end of Cloudsdale, nonetheless
>You eventually find her, mixing the rainbows in the weather factory
>You land on the cloud next to her
“Heya Ivy, what’s up?”
>She jumps, nearly dropping the rod she was using to mix the rainbows
>”Oh, Comet, it’s just you,” she sighs, placing the mixer aside. “What can I do for you?”
“Well, actually, I was wondering if you were free to do something today; I’m bored, Sonic Boom and Typhoon are out on another date, Flash Kick’s being flank-flustered, and Thunder’s busy moving clouds… He said you would be free today, so I came looking for you.”
>She smiles. “Of course; lemme finish mixing this last rainbow, then I’ll come hang out with you.”
>You pump your hoof into the air; finally, someone you can hang out with
>Little did you know, this would be the start to your epic adventure
>You decide to spend the time waiting for her trying to break through the strange glass wall in the air
>It doesn’t work; you decide to try again tomorrow
>Ivy finishes up, and the two of you head out, spending the day shooting through clouds like it’s a raceway and each cloud is like a checkpoint
>And all was good in the world of Streaking Comet that day.
