- Skillethead: I'm going to clarify about the two new TV stations I know of.Libya TV is broadcasting on arabsat (not yet online, still working on website.
- oldmomma: just did skilly
- Skillethead: The second is brand new and called NEWLIBYA TV. They have not started broadcasting yet but are active on FB, twitter and are working on their website. FB page: http://on.fb.me/fK7vsd
- oldmomma: no i got 6 hours of sleep
- Skillethead: *sorry momma but I don't think it hurts to clarify or add* --
- oldmomma: doesnt feel like i did
- oldmomma: yeah that is what im saying we need to get it clarified and since i didnt know i could not comment :)
- Skillethead: Then there is still Mo's livestream which is called Libya Alhurra TV -- we are still going, as you can see. We are working with other contacts inside Libya and are also planning a cool show...tba :)
- Skillethead: alhurra.com is not affiliated with Mo's Libya Alhurra TV, which has no plans to go live on satellite, as these other stations are doing it and Mo never wanted to run it anyway.
- oldmomma: France 24 has some good news on this site im watching it now www.myeasttv.com/watch/france-24
- Skillethead: We had a bit of a wikipedia war with some guy who kept insisting that Libya Alhurra TV was funded by Americans, like alhurra. I hope that is resolved but wiki wars are a nightmare and i don't have
- oldmomma: sorry its www.myeasytv.com/watch/france-24
- Skillethead: time to check every day to see what some uninformed wiki editor is doing
- CalyxxNC: 1) Mo had been trying to get on Nilesat (and I thought he had succeeded at one point)
- oldmomma: easy not east my bad lol
- CalyxxNC: 2) FB tweeted the other day that Libya Alhurra was live on Arabsat on 11585
- CalyxxNC: and Frfeed_radical announced that in chatroom
- Skillethead: @Calyxx -- yes, he had. But G jammed him and Nilesat refused to stop it at that point. G broadcasts on Nilesat and has billions so NS was unhelpful
- oldmomma: yes but that i not affilated with Mohammed but they do support it calyxx
- Skillethead: 2) & 3) FB and free_rad were wrong. Unfortunately, They jumped the gun with some tweets. Sorry. I cannot explain to you
- oldmomma: confusion at best calyxx
- Skillethead: how difficult it is to get information from Benghazi, from Mo's coworkers -- he kept them all separate. Mo was the man. May he rest in peace
- Skillethead: But Mo's great goal was to get the news out and to help get an independent station up and running on satellite
- Skillethead: On Saturday morning, March 19, he and I were actually just finishinig up the arrangement to get him the equipment he needed to do that
- Skillethead: Then, he heard the bombs falling.
- Skillethead: We were both going to go to bed and the deal we'd arranged was going to happen immediately.
- Skillethead: But he went live on the air. Then he went to report....the rest is history. So, please, forgive us the confusion. There are many security risks
- oldmomma: NBW i mean that one day his child will see the fruit of what their father died for freedom in Libya
- Skillethead: and people inside Libya are not entirely trusting of peole they don't know -- which is good!!! The point is, it is good that these stations are happening even without him. He would be happy, I'm sure.
- Skillethead: I know that one of our moderators is going to be a presenter on Libya TV :)
- Skillethead: I am sure that many of the people who helped Mo are working on those projects too.
- Skillethead: He never wanted to run/own a station -- he just wanted to help get it going.
- Skillethead: It seems his dream is beig fulfilled. There will be independent stations broadcasting in Libya and for the world.
- Skillethead: Does that help everyone understand what is going on?
- Skillethead: He was, captain. I, for one, miss him like crazy!
- Skillethead: mohamednabbous.com -- leave your condolences and memories there :)
- Skillethead: @Calyxx -- I'll let you know once I see it with my own eyes :) she is training now for it
- Skillethead: she wants to do a tribute to Mo and his (our) Libya Alhurra -- so we will definitely publicize that!!!
- Skillethead: yes, hold your tongue, please, calyxx...it's better that way :)
- ommo1: Calyxx, me? I'm right here
- Skillethead: and now, please, news from Free Libya !
- ommo1: just been very busy organising Libya Charity Week, sorry all :(
- Skillethead: excellent, ommo, tell us more
- Skillethead: and hello :)
- ommo1: it was crazy lol, but we raised a few grand, which is really good
- ommo1: so we will combine the money with other charities and get medical supplies for Misrata and Zawia
- Skillethead: that's great, i figured you were working on that stuff...i know the charity orgs in UK are really active and helping out.
- oldmomma: lets stop the rumors gusy!!
- ommo1: yeah, brilliant charities here, fantastic job
- Skillethead: So glad that the shipments to Misrata and elsewhere are getting through and there is protection for their safe passage. Many orgs are sending supplies
- ommo1: yeah, but now everyone is changing plan to Ships as Misrata port has opened
- Skillethead: But the needs are so great :( so, everybody, please help spread the word about LEGITIMATE Libyan charities and donate and fundraise for them
- Skillethead: yes, ommo, we -- @DrsForLibya -- made a shipment to Misrata
- Zeplusoif: just maybe the capital, and only if France help
- ommo1: from Malta?
- Skillethead: and now we are working more shipments, to other places too, in cooperation with other groups...it's growing...
- ommo1: that's brilliant skillet
- Skillethead: yes, via Malta. but i cannot give out more details..security risks require that we do not share too much info
- ommo1: u should email me or something, let me know how it's working
- ommo1: of course
- Skillethead: i mean, about specific shipments/routes/times etc. you know the dangers :)
- ommo1: yes of course lol
- Skillethead: i will put you on our list - what is your group called? we are probably already working with you :) if not, we should!
- Skillethead: you have my email. we are working on our blog and website as i write...
- Zeplusoif: you cannot ask them to control their frontier
- ommo1: ok, let's skype skillet lol
- Skillethead: @DMA -- that is not Mo's. Mo's Libya Alurra is here. And here only. -- that ink is interesting but I THINK maybe misinformed. I have no idea what Libya Ahrar TV is --news to me!!!
- Skillethead: If you click the link in that story -- it takes you to info about LIBYA TV -- the one i mentioned above, first. From Qatar. So, that source seems to be confused. I will not spend any more time
- Skillethead: tracking down rumors from misinformed sources. This has been exhausting!
- Skillethead: and with that, my friends, I have to step away.
