I have made my thoughts on Filli Vanilli known in the past. I hate this episode with a burning passion and I will probably never watch it again unless I have to.

But what is it about this particular episode that makes me dislike Fluttershy more than ever?

Well, there's the premise. Fluttershy sings! Andrea Libman is a wonderful voice actress and I'm not going to knock her singing either. Where this falls apart however is when Pinkie enters the fray.

Pinkie Pie is 90% of the reason I fucking hate this episode. I have never seen bastardisation of a character so bad outside of fan-fiction. She doesn't care about Fluttershy's feelings. At all. She is *horribly* characterised, making her out to be nothing more than the hyperactive comic relief that never gets development. What happened to her development in Pinkie Pride? She forfeited a competition because she hurt her friend, but now she doesn't so much as BLINK when she makes Fluttershy CRY. TWICE.

*Deep breath*

That feels slightly better.

SLIGHTLY.

So why does this episode make me dislike Fluttershy? She's apparently reverted back to her Season 1 self, since she has a nervous breakdown when her friends praise her singing. Also the whole "Mistaking CHEERING for JEERING" is amazingly stupid.

If you like this episode, that's fine. We all have opinions, it's what makes us unique in our own special way.

But I expect better from the writer of Pinkie Pride.
